The core values of our church are based on five pillars, each resting on the foundation of Jesus Christ. The five pillars are Devotion, Discipleship, Mission, Ministry, and Christian Community.
These core values are expressed in our relaitonship with God and one another in the following ways:
DEVOTION to Jesus Christ is the highest calling of the church, which is expressed in what we think, say, and do. We convey our devotion through worship, obedience, and living our lives in complete surrender to His Lordship. We worship God for who He is and for what He has done. We obey Him as an expression of our love. We give ourselves as living and holy sacrifices putting all else aside for Jesus Christ who is the object of our devotion.
DISCIPLESHIP is raising up faithful followers of Jesus Christ. In Mathew 28, Jesus told His followers that as they traveled down life’s path they were to make disciples of all nations by baptizing and teaching others to obey everything He has commanded. The ministry of making disciple of Jesus Christ is carried on by the people of God generation after generation.
CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY is being the Family of God and relating rightly in wholesome, godly, uplifting ways. This is not merely rhetoric but the practical, genuine, and sincere expression of love towards our brothers and sisters in Christ. Christian Community is relational in nature and is carried out in an atmosphere of love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, & kindness. As a Community, we display the person of Jesus to the world around us.
MISSION is reaching out to others who do not yet know Jesus Christ with the good news of hope, healing, and forgiveness that is found in Jesus. We accomplish this by touching those in our world - family, friends, neighbors, and beyond - with the love of Jesus Christ. We are the people of God on the mission of God.
MINISTRY is our service to God and His purposes. We believe that every member is a minister and as the people of God we are called to do good works, those good works that God has prepared for us in advance to do. It is the call of each believer to give themselves in ministry to the Lord, to His people, and to the world.
And, as the strength of each pillar, PRAYER supports us in our conversation with Jesus Christ to the benefit of these core values.
